The first five holes are in the valley just below the chateau clubhouse; these holes were first opened in 1988. The 1st tee overhangs the valley and the first holes border the Varenne river. Water is present and part of the game. After the first five holes in the valley the golfer then has to start working his/her way uphill through the meandering woodland. These forest holes take advantage of their natural opening, making the game of golf a beautiful walk through the forest with breathtaking views on the 8th tee. From the 12th, with their generous fairways the plateau holes are tempting for the longer hitters. The beautiful plateau fairways mixed with a great variety of holes make the back 9 holes tranquil & scenic. Oak trees, hedges but also roughs, bunkers and wind brings the golfer back to reality. On the 17th, it's back to a tree-lined fairway, the 18th gives you a magnificent view of the chateau.
